We took a drive earlier this week (March 21, 2017) on a hunt for Texas Wildflowers. Found some pretty Bluebonnets outside Burnet, TX near Inks Lake State Park (above) and the Red Wildflowers in Llano Park, Llano, TX. Many of the roadside Bluebonnets were pretty lush, it's just that they were on the main highways and too dangerous to get out and take pictures and stay in one piece!
Last year we found the best Wildflowers on Willow City Loop in Willow City, TX outside Fredericksburg but haven't had a chance to check that out yet this time. It was such a beautiful drive and there were plenty of places to pull to the side and walk to the best picture taking places.
I think the flowers will be at their peek in the hill country in the next two weeks. If you can get away for a nice afternoon drive, we highly recommend heading north to the hill country...
